DVD-Audio and DVD-ROM software. DTS decoders are in every major brand of
5.1-channel surround processors, and there are more than 100 million
DTS-licensed consumer electronics products worldwide. Founded in 1993,
the company is headquartered in Agoura Hills, California and has offices in the
United Kingdom, Japan and China. Using a series of innovations,
inventions and powerful multi-function coding technology, DTS has set the
reference standard for digital audio delivery systems in the motion picture
industry.
To create clarity, depth and texture - all essential elements
of high-quality, multi-channel digital sound - we start behind the scenes on
mixing stages. Our purpose is to understand the artist's vision and intention,
and provide them with the creative tools to unlock the power and emotion of
their stories. Working with filmmakers, sound mixers, engineers and motion
picture studios, we are able to produce the finest soundtrack reproduction
possible and enable the artistic team to create a compelling synergy of picture
and sound.
DTS Digital Sound takes full advantage of digital storage
technology advancements by putting data on the medium invented to store it:
CD-ROM. Playing the correct sound for each frame of film projected, the DTS
system reads time code on the film and synchronizes playback from the CD-ROM
discs. DTS' audio integrity is unaffected by film deterioration or degradation
- the print plays perfect sound whether on the first play date or the
thousandth. For more information, visit
